Houston—May 1, 2009—In April of this year, Origin and Second Baptist Church, the third-largest congregation in the country, launched a web site to better serve the church’s five locations, nearly 50,000 members and hundreds of thousands of annual visitors.
Second wanted the site to act as a sixth location—as inviting and engaging as an online experience can be. So Origin designed a site driven by events that can be updated daily by Second. Media—including quick-loading video and audio files—offer visitors a more dynamic experience. Customizable Bible study class pages allow each of the several hundred classes to convey their own distinct personalities. And a password protected MySBCLife section allows families to RSVP and track events on a personal calendar.
Origin resolved this complex design challenge with more than 24 CSS layouts with cross browser transparency support and embedded flash in five distinct color schemes. For non-techies, suffice it to say, this site is big and complex. But, like Second, it’s also friendly and approachable.
