Houston—March 07, 2011—Midtown saw a sudden spike in creativity as the crew of Origin dug in for good in its new studio space. Cresting the top of Bon Appetite Magazine’s #1 seafood restaurant in the U.S., the Origin offices now offer impressive scenic views and instant access to Houston’s best attractions—from midtown to downtown, the museum district and the medical center, all by METRORail.
The choice of location was no accident. “You have a tendency to be influenced by your environment,” says Origin Principal Jim Mousner. “Midtown puts culture at our fingertips.”
Origin’s offices are built for harnessing local culture and channeling it into a creative environment. The space is designed to scale up, with plenty of room to grow, and features several strategic entertaining and creative spaces, including a rooftop party space with a view of the Houston skyline.
With the new offices came an upgrade to the studio’s server room, which greatly expanded technical capabilities. The server room is equipped with an HFC-125 fire suppression system to help safeguard client data. Storage capacity and enhanced capabilities are in constant evolution.
But it’s the comfortable creative space that catches the most attention. An enormous corkboard tree “grows” from the center of the main studio area—a place where inspirational artwork and photography can be hung. Numerous comfortable seating areas are arranged throughout the offices to give employees and clients plenty of space to brainstorm.
“We wanted it to be a place where our clients could get out of their traditional offices and just relax for a bit,” Mousner says. “We’re fine-tuning the space all the time.”
The new Origin studio is located on the top floor of One Origin Center at 2600 Travis in Houston.
