Houston—October 25, 2006—After planning and staging a company-wide photo shoot for Wetmore & Company’s limited edition book Our Home Town, the people at Origin decided that an annual event was in order.
In 2006, the Alter Ego Ball was born. This year’s ball, held at Rockefeller’s in Houston, featured a dedicated stylist, make-up artist, photographer and more than three dozen alter egos—Origin’s staff as wildly costumed musical performers. Weeks in the planning, cabaret, goth, country, alternative, blues, hip hop, mod, rock and more were represented—sometimes all at the same time.
Photos were taken of each attendee and the entire group. Origin set the results to music and showed the video at the Aurora Picture Show during the annual team meeting. The photos live on as a screen saver within the company, serving as a reminder of the many facets of Origin.
“We work so hard together, and even in an environment such as this, you sometimes overlook the interests and talents and little details that make each person here so amazing,” said Jim Mousner. “The Alter Ego Ball brings us together. It gives us an opportunity to enjoy each other’s creativity outside of work and to try on a different persona. And each year it just gets better and better.”
